About Vanessa Knouse
Bio
Vanessa Knouse (she/her) is a dance artist and teacher originally from Santa Fe, NM. She trained at the School of Aspen Santa Fe Ballet before earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts. Vanessa has had the pleasure of performing many works by Merce Cunningham and performed in The Night of 100 Solos: A Centennial Event. She was a company member at Cornfield Dance for eight years and has been working with Douglas Dunn + Dancers since 2021. She has also been lucky enough to work with Bill Young/Colleen Thomas & Co., Ian Spencer Bell, Susan Marshall & Co., and Jody Oberfelder Projects. She has been a guest teaching artist at Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Dewitt Clinton High School, The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, the Madison Ballet School, New Mexico School for the Arts, Southern Vermont Dance Festival, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She worked with Kimberly Bartosik/daela and Douglas Dunn as a rehearsal assistant and has assisted Patricia Lent in staging event versions of Merce Cunninghams’ work.
