About Sojung (Esther) Lim
Bio
Sojung Esther Lim comes from South Korea. Her work has focused on dance theatre, dance translation, and storytelling in dance inspired by diverse materials from historical events, social justice, films, and personal history by responding to issues we have faced from the past to the present. Throughout her dance journey living in multiple places, Sojung investigates a sense of belonging and an essence of emotion and feeling of Korean identity in contemporary dance as her ongoing research. Sojung has a BA in Dance from the University of Washington, Seattle. She is also involved with the Seattle dance and Korean communities including works with the Seattle International Dance Festival 2020 (Seattle), Residency Cunningham Centennial Celebration (Seattle) ‘Migra’ by Kamchatka Theatre Company from Spain (Seoul), “NiNe Lives” (Seattle), “Promise of Green,” The Silo 3 Project (Seattle), and Korea’ s 20th Annual New Year Celebration (Tacoma).
