About Ken Beck
Ken Beck, musician, a native of Washington, DC, received a BM from the Boston Conservatory of Music in Boston. He studied analog synthesis techniques with Richard Lehrman and composition with John Adams, Joel Kabakov, and Hugo Norden. He has served as a musician for dancers since 1977, working with the Westport Ballet, the Kansas City Ballet, the Washington Ballet, the Ohio Ballet, Eric Hampton, Sulamith Messerer, Edward Villella, Bella Lewitzky, and many others. He has been a staff musician and an academic professional/specialist in music at the University of Illinois since 1998. He currently serves as coordinator and mentor of the departmental musicians, coordinates and teaches in the Introduction to Contemporary Dance online program, as well as accompanies in the studio daily.
