Children's Dance

Creative Dance for ChildrenWelcome to Dance at Illinois' Children's Dance Program!

Children's Dance has been a long-time treasured offering to our community by Dance at Illinois. Originally led by Kate Kuper, these Saturday classes are for children who are yearning to move with joy and dance their hearts out! Your children will dance in a safe and inspiring classroom environment led this year by Betty Allen, a dance teacher with over two decades of experience in a school setting as well as a lifelong advocate of dance and the arts in education. Dance at Illinois dance majors will assist Betty, bringing their passion and dance expertise to the classroom.

Betty Allen currently serves as a supervisor and mentor at the University of Illinois in the College of Education. She also co-teaches Artsful Teaching through Integration and Introduction to Contemporary Dance. In her role as the director of the Children's Dance Program for the Department of Dance, Betty strives to help children explore the world through creative movement and dance.
