Dance at Illinois presents “Roller Skating while Black,” an interactive lecture-demonstration on the history, technique, and cultural influences of Black rhythm skating, by guest artist Isaiah Harris. This event is part of the department’s production season, “Black on Black; A Celebration of Black Dance,” highlighting the impact, diversity, and innovation of Black dance artistry through a series of masterclasses, performances, lectures, and public events that engage our campus and local communities. Lecture begins at 5:15pm, skating follows at 6:30pm. $8 admission fee, $4.50 skate rental.
