Angie Pittman (MFA '15)

Angie PittmanAngie Pittman has performed her dances at Gibney Dance, BAAD!, Movement Research at Judson Church, Triskelion Arts, STooPS, the Domestic Performance Agency, the KnockDown Center, Catch 73 at the Invisible Dog, Danspace Project, and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Angie is currently dancing with Donna Uchizono Company and Ralph Lemon. Angie has had the pleasure of dancing in work by Tere O'Connor, Jennifer Monson, Kyli Kleven, Anna Sperber, Tess Dworman, Antonio Ramos, Jasmine Hearn, Jonathan Gonzalez, Solange, and others. She holds an MFA in dance and choreography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a graduate minor in African American studies and a BA in dance from Old Dominion University. She was a 2015 DanceWEB scholar for Impulstanz Dance Festival in Vienna, Austria, and was a 2016 artist-in-residence with Movement Research. Angie's work resides in a space that investigates how her body moves through ballad, groove, sparkle, spirit, spirituals, ancestry, vulnerability, and power.

The College of Fine and Applied Arts is seeking nominations for the inaugural Legacy Awards. These awards will recognize college alumni and friends who have demonstrated courage, curiosity, and passion in their work related to the arts. Awards include the Distinguished Legacy Award, Emerging Legacy Award, and Illinois Arts Legacy Award.
